Empathy for our Eight-legged Friends

We hope to help change the perspective of spiders from being cast as the scary villainous monster of mainstream movies to that of a friend and partner in our ecosystem.

It is often said that the spider is a gardeners best friend, and this is because arachnids are an excellent defense against many pest insects. Modern pesticides will kill spiders along with the targeted pest species, leaving the area without its natural insect predators for the next year.

Here at New Leaves we encourage a new perspective, one where we think of the spider as a friend, helper, or guardians of our gardens and homes. Spiders of course can have venoms that can be quite harmful, but we feel this means they should be respected and not feared.
