Black berry plants are very good survivalists! They can reproduce biologically through the seeds that we all know and love for their sweet dark juice, but the blackberry plant can also produce genetic copies of themselves through their stems and root systems. This is what can make invasive variations of this plant so difficult to remove. If even the smallest part of the plant is left on the ground it has the potential to sprout a brand new colony.
